Members of the 5-star-rated NPO, Stepping Stone Hospice, along with their new mascot, will be at Bracken City Shopping Centre on May 31 from 09:00 to 13:00 to raise awareness of their services and to raise much-needed funds.

Come and explore their selection of pre-loved treasures on the day, from books to crockery, among other items. All proceeds will go towards their Hospice care. Their children’s unit mascot will be spreading joy and cheer on the day, and kids will have the opportunity to take photos with Victor.

“We are grateful for the generous opportunity presented by Bracken City Shopping Centre for allowing us to have a stall on the said date to be able to reach out to the Alberton community and surrounding areas,” said Tersia Burger, CEO and founder of Stepping Stone Hospice.

Stepping Stone provides specialist palliative care to both young and old individuals experiencing the impact of life-threatening illnesses, such as HIV, cancer, renal failure, heart failure, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

“We also offer child-centred palliative care at our pediatric unit in Raceview, designed to meet the holistic needs of children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions,” Tersia said.

On the day, they will be introducing the friendly face of their hospice to Brackenhurst residents and surrounding areas while raising awareness of their services. There will also be a donation box for those who wish to kindly donate.

“Our mission is to create a warm and welcoming environment that brings joy and comfort to our patients. We believe that every patient deserves to feel loved, cherished, and supported, regardless of their diagnosis or prognosis,” Tersia said.
