Says Stepping Stone Hospice CEO, Tersia Burger: “We are completely overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our community once again. This walk was months in the making, with the leadership team of Brackendowns Baptist Church taking a keen interest in our hospice and the work we do. They visited our In-Patient Unit and included us in all the aspects of the day. We are proud to have been involved in such a heartfelt gesture of kindness. My thanks to each and every member of the leadership team who helped make this happen – Colin Stephen, Sharon Esterhuizen, Pastor Duncan Muller, Peter Orpen, Gideon Diego, Margie Johnson, Cleo Wasserman and Hazel Pillay.”
In addition to the walk, other events on the day included praise and worship, personal testimonies from people about their journey with cancer, live entertainment, jumping castles and fun for the kids, as well as food and beverage stalls.
“We hope that the funds raised will be of some assistance to Stepping Stone Hospice in the continuation of the wonderful work they do,” said Colin Stephen on behalf of the leadership team.
