There are people who bring more than a CV through the door on their first day. Albertonian, Elizma Hatlen, is one of them.
With over 15 years of experience spanning corporate catering, facilities management, and a deepening passion for Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, Elizma arrives at Stepping Stone with both a wealth of knowledge and a genuine heart for people.
Her journey has been anything but ordinary. From Functions Coordinator to Project Manager to Key Accounts Manager, she has built her career the way most worthwhile things are built – one thoughtful step at a time. Along the way, she developed a reputation for being fair, practical, and solutions-driven; someone who sees the person behind the problem and responds with both insight and integrity.

Academically, Elizma holds a Diploma in Nutrition from Shaw Academy and a Facilities Management qualification from the University of Pretoria. She is currently in the final stages of completing her BCom Law degree – a testament to her commitment to growing and doing things properly.
Her expertise extends into compliance management, health and safety, labour law, and BBBEE, with additional short courses in HR strengthening her already well-rounded foundation.
We are delighted to welcome Elizma, who has officially begun her duties as HR Consultant at Stepping Stone Hospice – bringing over 15 years of people-centred expertise to our growing team. Her appointment reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in every aspect of care, as we continue to uphold the standard of service that has earned Stepping Stone its reputation as a 5-star hospice.
But what stands out most about Elizma isn’t found on paper. It’s her belief that workplaces should be structured, fair, and deeply human – that the relationship between employer and employee matters, and that getting it right changes everything.
That belief fits perfectly here. On May 4, was Elizma’s first day, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the Stepping Stone family. We have no doubt she is going to make a meaningful difference, not just in how we operate, but in how our people feel. Welcome home, Elizma.
