Revival City College raises funds for Stepping Stone Hospice

We are absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude following the incredible generosity shown by Revival City College, who have donated a remarkable R10 000 to our 5-star accredited NPO.

This amazing contribution came after we approached the school to request their support in hosting a Civvies Day fundraiser for our Children’s Unit and our ambitious project to build a 14-bed in-patient unit in Raceview. This facility is desperately needed to meet the growing demand for palliative care services in the Greater Alberton areas.

The response from Revival City College was nothing short of extraordinary. Through the enthusiastic participation of both learners and teachers – many of whom generously contributed more than the required amount – the Civvies Day raised R5 000. The school then made the incredible decision to double this amount, bringing their total contribution to R10 000.

Revival City has been a steadfast supporter of our work over the years, and we were deeply moved by how excited and eager they were to be part of this life-changing project.

Karen van den Oever, Operational Director at Revival City College, shared: “We were quite happy to help the hospice and to forever show our support for the incredible work they do in our community.”

Our CEO and founder, Tersia Burger, expressed her heartfelt appreciation: “We are so grateful for Revival City College’s unwavering support. Their generosity will make a real difference in the lives of those who need palliative care. This donation brings us one step closer to making our vision of the new in-patient unit a reality, ensuring that more families in our area will have access to the compassionate care they deserve during life’s most difficult moments.”

We urge other schools to kindly come on board and show their support by hosting similar events such as Civvies Days – together we can build something truly meaningful for our community.
