Stepping Stone Hospice’s Children’s Unit is launching a fundraising challenge, led by their beloved
mascot Victor, to raise funds to support the care and services they provide to children with life
limiting illnesses.

The paediatric unit provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to receive palliative care,
as well as support and counselling for their families. Their team of dedicated healthcare professionals and volunteers work tirelessly to provide individualized care and attention to each child, ensuring that they receive the best care and quality of life.

“However, we need your help to continue providing this essential care. As a non-profit organization,
we rely on the generosity of our community to support our services. That’s why we’re calling on
locals to declutter their homes and kindly donate their preloved items to our charity shop. Whether
it’s a gently used piece of clothing, a household item, or a piece of furniture, every donation will help
us raise the funds we need to support our children,” said Tersia Burger, founder and CEO of Stepping
Stone Hospice.

She urged everyone to consider making a generous donation, “Whether it’s a preloved item or a
monetary donation.”

“Every donation will help us continue providing care and support to children with life-limiting
illnesses and their families. To participate in Victor’s Fundraising Challenge, simply gather your
unwanted items, bring them to our charity shop [2 Fore St, New Redruth, Alberton], and let us do
the rest. We accept donations of all kinds,” Tersia said.
