Hospice to host ‘Communication, Counselling & Life Skills Course’

The course will begin on Tuesday, 5 September, from 9am to 1pm, and run every Tuesday at that time for 12 weeks. The cost per person is R1 200 and the workshops will take place at Stepping Stone Hospice’s premises in New Market Park.

Some of the skills covered will include: listening, reflecting, acknowledging, empathy, questioning, exploring, confrontation, empowering, problem solving, stages of loss, attitude and choice, holistic care and care of the self.

“Marisa is a phenomenal teacher and we often turn to her for guidance and counselling at our hospice,” explains Stepping Stone CEO, Tersia Burger. “Her courses are very popular, with people often remarking about how much they learn in the 12 weeks about living consciously and being able to cope with the realities of life. I believe that her courses should be compulsory for us all.”
