“We are delighted to be making the contribution to this project, especially in the light of the fact that the proposed extension to your In-Patient Unit will include an Adolescent section,” explains Rui Cruz, one of the group’s leaders .
Annually, on the last Saturday of September, the youth, amongst others, host their St Therese FESTA in celebration of the patron saint of their church. The funds raised through the festival, are then donated to charities in the community. “This year, the youth felt very strongly that the funds should be going to our own hospice to also show our support for what you are doing for our community and plan to do for our young people,” Rui further explains..
A delighted Tersia Burger, CEO of Stepping Stone Hospice, thanked the group. ”Your funds will go towards the planned 505sqm addition to our existing In-Patient Unit. With your hard work and financial support, a dream is starting to become a reality and we salute you for that,” she says.
Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services is an independent community driven organization and as a developing hospice, in constant need of financial support.
