Reflecting on 2014

Through her pain, a hospice was born and today Tersia Burger can look proudly upon the magnitude of the growth of Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services. Tersia's daughter, Vicky passed away in January 2013 and in her last days, was cared for by hospice nursing sister, Sister Siza Nkosi. Tersia then teamed up with sr Nkosi and Rina Davies, now the hospice treasurer, and Stepping Stone Hospice became a reality. Vicky's wish was that Alberton could have its own hospice and today her legacy lives on. In the just more than a year, Stepping Stone has grown by leaps and bounds, now employing a great number of staff and care workers. And whilst we celebrate our growth, we also remember those who have passed and our thoughts and prayers are with the families during this Christmas time.
