Celebrity pop singer Heinz Winkler and his wife, Aletté-Johanni, will be the guest speakers at Stepping Stone Hospice’s inaugural CEO Tea, to be held on Saturday 19 October from 10:30 onwards at Sha-Mani Lodge in New Market Park, Alberton.
Aletté-Johanni, a published author and motivational speaker, to name just two of her many achievements, will lead the discussion around the topic of the day “Are our Men in Trouble?”
Says Stepping Stone Hospice CEO, Tersia Burger; “We thought it relevant to the times we are living in – where do our men find themselves today, has their traditional role changed and are we as women mindful of the implications this may have on our men?”
The hosting of the CEO Tea coincides with October being the month in which World Hospice & Palliative Care Day is celebrated. As the main purpose of World Hospice Day is to raise awareness and understanding of the multiple faces of hospice care, Tersia says that the tea will also see the launch of Stepping Stone’s first Official Video show casting the work done at Stepping Stone Hospice.
“Visitors, family members and our patients more often than not, only see the activities and work done in our In-Patient Unit. We would like to give our community some insight into the machine driving the organization, the staff and the work done behind the scenes that enables us to keep our doors open and render the much-needed services to those facing the effects of life-limiting illnesses.”
Tickets for this event sell at R280 per person and the price includes entertainment and a light lunch. Kindly contact Runette Gertenbach to book your ticket: runette@steppingstonehospice.co.za or on 083 230 9321.
