For many of us year-end festivities and Christmas celebrations brings with it moments of sadness as we remember those who are no longer with us. At Stepping Stone Hospice we understand this possibly better than most and we therefore host a tree-lighting ceremony held annually on the last Saturday of November. It’s a ceremony that can be seen as a beacon of hope, strength and a celebration of life.
You can add your remembrance globe in celebration of a loved one who has gone before us, at only R100, and know that the funds will go towards a good cause. Funds raised ensure that hope, comfort and support continue to be provided for Stepping Stone Hospice patients and families on the journey of life-limiting illnesses.
In purchasing a Remembrance Globe, you will be offered the opportunity to write a dedicated message to your loved one which will be posted on a special Tree of Lights page on our website. You can then view and share your dedicated messages with friends, family and colleagues on your favourite social media platform.
You are furthermore invited to join us then for the tree-lighting ceremony on Friday 26 November 2021 at Stepping Stone Hospice where a beautiful tree has been selected to carry messages of hope and celebration for the month of December. The tree shines throughout December.
Our initiative ensures that hope, comfort and support are provided to patients and families on the journey of a life-limiting illness.

Apart… but still together in the world of memory. We don’t know when our reunion will be. But one day, some day, hand in hand we’ll make another start. Till then my dear Ken, God bless and keep you. In loving memory of my precious husband. R.I.P.
We will, forever, treasure your precious memory and tender love as we carry you in our hearts every day. The joy of the Lord will be our strength until we meet again. (Nehemiah 8:10) We love and miss you dearly. Daddy!
