Now in Grade 11, Dylan and the rest of the welfare committee members are working towards earning their 10th wheelchair, after collecting a whopping 450kg of plastic bottle caps for the wheelchair (their 9th to date) which was given to hospice. “I’d like to hit the 15-wheelchair mark before I leave school,” says Dylan.
Special mention was made at the assembly of Jarred Binedell, a member of the welfare team who was responsible for 250kg of the 450kg collected.
“This school can be very proud of its dynamic, community-aware learners,” said Sr Sheryl at the handover. “I have been invited here a number of times and consider everyone at Alberton High to be true friends of Stepping Stone Hospice.”
