About Courageous Conversations
Working at a hospice exposes us to every kind of human emotion and experience. What we have learnt is that we all have a story. We all experience heartbreak, heartache, uncertainty and difficult times in our lives. Courageous Conversations was borne out of this knowledge. Courageous Conversations is about talking about the 'unspeakable' issues that we are often confronted with and have no outlet to express or learn coping mechanisms for…
When: Our Courageous Conversations are set to take place once a month, on a Saturday, from 10am-1:30pm.
Where: We will host our talks and speakers at the beautiful and tranquil Café la Plume, which is located at 17 Joan Rd, Glenanda, Joburg South. For more information about this venue, click here.
Cost: R150pp, which includes the talk, any discussion notes as well as a light tea and refreshments. (Other items ordered from the café's menu will be for your own account.)

Our facilitator: Holistic Entrepreneur, Marisa Wolheim - a dedicated and passionate trainer with 21 years' experience in Hospice Care - will present 'The LOSS Toolbox' on Saturday, 19 May, from 10am to 1:30pm at Café la Plume: "Understanding the process of Loss and how it affects us can equip us to cope better and assist us to know how to hear and support those around us also going through Loss, for we never experience alone," she says.
"I specialize in facilitating a journey within, so you can discover, heal and reclaim yourself from your past, emotions and attitudes," explains Marisa, who also believes in empowering people with the knowledge to understand the realities of life "such as loss, death and grief." "Marisa is a phenomenal teacher and we often turn to her for guidance and counselling at our hospice," explains Stepping Stone CEO, Tersia Burger.
